After attending a memorial service for one of my mentors last week, a friend of my mentioned that despite her intense shyness she had an enormous footprint. Indeed!
It got me thinking about the reach of our lives, and the legacy we leave. I began to wonder about mine. Am I impacting lives in a positive way?
I believe we have the power to shift the experience of another in a nanosecond. A little care, and little compassion, a little thoughtfulness goes a long long way.
As we celebrated Julia’s life, and we mourned her passing, one thing was abundantly clear. Her footprint is huge. She walked into the lives of so many people, in so many different communities – from business to non-profit to church – and made an impact.
To me, that’s Julia’s legacy. A very big footprint.
